GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE
If you’re paying out of pocket — because you don’t have insurance, or you’re choosing not to use it — you deserve to know what your care will cost before you begin. That’s not just federal law. It’s what we promise you.
Our Promise to You
- We’ll ask, before your first appointment, whether you plan to use insurance — so we know right away whether a Good Faith Estimate applies to you.
- We’ll give you a written Good Faith Estimate of your expected costs before you start care. Every time. No charge for it, ever.
- You’ll have it quickly: within 3 business days if you schedule 10 or more business days out, within 1 business day if you schedule sooner than that, or within 3 business days of simply asking us — even before you’ve scheduled anything.
- If you stay with us for ongoing care, we’ll hand you a fresh estimate at least once every 12 months, so it never goes stale.
- We’ll keep your estimate on file for at least six years, so it’s there if you ever need to look back at it.
And a couple of things this estimate is not: it’s not a bill, and it’s not a contract. It doesn’t obligate you to keep seeing us — it just tells you, honestly, what to expect if you do.
How to Get Yours at KPCC
Just ask. Any KPCC staff member can start your Good Faith Estimate, whether or not you’ve scheduled an appointment yet. We’ll walk you through:
- Your rate per session — $195 for self-pay, or your personalized sliding-scale rate if you’d rather apply based on household income
- How many sessions are typically recommended for your type of care, based on a conversation with your counselor
- Any other item or service we expect to bill you for
Call us at 304-346-9689, or ask in person at 1116 Kanawha Blvd E, Charleston, WV.
Where This Promise Comes From
This is your right under the federal No Surprises Act — not just something we’ve decided to offer. For more information, visit cms.gov/medical-bill-rights or call the No Surprises Help Desk at 1-800-985-3059.
Cost should never be the barrier between you and care — and neither should confusion about what that care costs. We’re here to make both as clear as we can.
