KP Counseling Center is in-network with most major insurance plans.
Before your first appointment, our billing team verifies your benefits and lets you know exactly what to expect — your copay, your deductible, and what’s covered. No surprises, no guessing.
If we’re not in-network with your plan, ask about out-of-network reimbursement or your options under our sliding scale below.

Our Sliding Scale
KP Counseling Center has offered sliding-scale fees since 1972 — before it was common practice, and it still is today. Your rate is based on household income and family size, not on what your insurance does or doesn’t cover. It applies to every service we offer: individual, couples, family, and adolescent counseling.
Because every rate is personal to your household, we don’t publish a sliding-scale fee schedule online. Contact our office at 304-346-9689 and we’ll walk you through what your rate would be and how to get started — it only takes a simple income verification, no lengthy paperwork required.
Prefer not to apply for a sliding-scale rate? Self-pay sessions are available at $195 per session, no income verification required.
Cost Should Never Be the Barrier — The Client Sponsorship Fund
For clients who are uninsured or underinsured, KPCC’s Client Sponsorship Fund helps close the remaining gap — made possible entirely by community donations and grants, not government funding. In 2025 alone, the Fund covered 415 sessions. If cost is still a concern after your sliding-scale rate is set, ask your counselor or our billing team about applying.
